What We Do

You can partner with us to bring change

What we have been doing over the years

Education Funding

We assist socially or/and economically disadvantaged Ohafia people with much-needed resources, education, training and skills to excel, alleviate inequalities, and reach successful lives.

Our Scholarship programs are both merits-based and Needs-based for students in primary and secondary schools, then Universities in the area of operation. We have successfully funded over 100 students with scholarships.

Health Promotion

We provide healthcare services to marginalised people, including mothers and their children of Ohafia people, by providing regular health checks, awareness campaigns and outreaches from time to time. Health promotion activities such as Medical/Health community initiatives and events are operating.

Clean Water

In continuation of the robust effort to carry out the objectives in 2021, we commence the sinking of public water bore projects at two strategic locations within Ohafia Local Government areas to allow the rural dwellers to access safe and clean water sources, especially during the dry season. Villagers tend to trek a few seven to ten kilometres to fetch water from the neighbouring streams.

The foundation has recorded complete 7  motorized borehole project which are located at Elu, Amaekpu, Ebem, Okagwe, Akanu, Isiukwuato, Ndi Ibe and Amoba communities respectively.

During the 2020 Covid, the foundation distributed over N1m woth of food items to Ohafia women.

In 2021, the fooundation shared 100 bags to Amaekpu and Okon (communal rift) communities.

Okon Community Food Aide

Amangwu Food Aide

Provision of electricity to Amankwu Community of Amaekpu Ohafia Abia State Nigeria was accomplished in 2018 by Dr Okwun Ojah donating and installing a 300/11KVA them. These areas had been in utter darkness for over 10 – 15 years and have solicited the government and well-to-do indigenes for help without success.
The transformer is effectively working, and the people enjoy light whenever there is an electricity supply.

Infrastructure

Our infrastructure projects include the provision of an ultra-modern town hall with an e-library complex. Construction started in 2017 for the town hall for Ndi UMUOZIO. It includes a state of the Art, multipurpose complex equipped with a power generator, internet connection, and 11 laptops. It was completed in 2019.

Creation of Rural Road
Between 2018 – 2019 a rural road between Amaekpu and Amangwu was created to ensure the safe mobility of goods and persons and to promote economic and social activities. Before the creation of the road, the peasant farmers of both villages and neighbouring clans would trek dangerous bush paths to and from the farms while carrying heavy loads of farm products on their heads.
