How We care?
Humanitarian Aid Programs
Ojah Family Foundation has provided crucial humanitarian support to impoverished communities. Our efforts have included the distribution of food, pipe borne water, medicine, and clothing to those in immediate need. By responding swiftly and efficiently to crises, we have saved lives and alleviated suffering in some of the most vulnerable areas.
Impact:
- 300,000+ Individuals Served: Over the years, we have directly impacted the lives of more than 300,000 individuals through our emergency relief and aid programs, providing essential supplies .
Our foundation is deeply committed to the power of education as a tool for long-term development. We have launched a variety of educational programs aimed at improving access to quality education for children and adults in underserved communities. We focus on providing scholarships, school supplies, and vocational training to enhance both academic achievement and employability.
Impact:
- Scholarships Awarded: In N5,000,000 scholarship funds were disbursed to undergrades of Medicine & Surgery and in 2025, N6,000.000 was given to 11 students of Law as scholarship . Many Others have benefited from our scholarship programs, receiving financial assistance to attend school and access quality education, including undergraduates in the field of Medicine and Surgery, and other cadre of education.
- Vocational / Skill Training : In collaboration with local partners, we have empowered some individuals by financing their skill training in various fields and others we have procured tools, motor bikes, cars etc. These programs have helped various individuals gain employment and start their own businesses, reducing poverty and increasing economic independence.
Healthcare Initiatives
In partnership with local healthcare providers, Ojah Family Foundation has facilitated healthcare initiatives that aim to provide essential medical care to underserved communities. This includes medical bill payment support, and maternal and child health services.
Impact:
- Patients Treated Free: Through our community outreach programs, we have treated over many patients free especially within Ohafia community and empowered others with funds to manage life after treatment.
Community Infrastructure Development
Ojah Family Foundation is also deeply committed to the development of critical infrastructure in underserved areas. This includes building and refurbishing schools, hospitals, and drilling borehole water , ensuring that communities have access to the basic amenities such as light necessary for a healthy and productive life.
Impact:
- Water Access: Over 10 rural communities have gained access to clean water through the construction of boreholes, drastically improving health outcomes and reducing water-borne diseases.
- Light: We have provide solar street lights in some communities in Ohafia
- Road: We have also constructed various rural access roads in Ohafia
- Infrastructure Development: We have built or renovated over few schools and health clinics, directly benefiting thousands of children and families.
Women and Youth Empowerment:
At Ojah Family Foundation, we place a significant emphasis on empowering women and young people. Our programs have been specifically designed to address gender inequality and youth disenfranchisement by providing women with financial support aids. We plan for other bigger empowerment programs, and access to business opportunities. For youth, we provide platforms to engage in community development initiatives and peaceful co-existence especially in the area of sports. The Dr Okwun Ojah Sports Tournament in Ohafia LGA is one of such programmes.
Promoting Unity Through Sports In Ohafia
The Dr. Okwun Ojah Unity Football Tournament is an annual sporting event that has become a hallmark of community engagement and youth empowerment in Ohafia, Abia State, Nigeria. This tournament, named in honor of Dr. Okwun Ojah, a passionate advocate for community development and social unity, brings together young people from across the region to celebrate the power of sports in fostering togetherness, teamwork, and peaceful coexistence.
Purpose and Vision
The primary goal of the Dr. Okwun Ojah Unity Football Tournament is to promote unity and foster a spirit of camaraderie among the people of Ohafia and beyond. The tournament aims to provide a platform for young people, particularly those from underserved areas, to showcase their talents, build friendships, and engage in healthy competition. It also seeks to use sports as a tool for social change, bridging cultural divides and promoting peaceful cohabitation across different ethnic groups within the community.
